Founded in 2023 by Emma, Wirral Canine Services aims to provide ​​comprehensive solutions for all aspects of the dog industry. Our services are ​​designed to meet the diverse needs of dog owners, ensuring the highest ​quality ​of care and training for their beloved pets.

Emma

Emma is the owner and canine behaviourist for Wirral Canine Counselling

“I am Emma. I have a fascination with nature and ​science. I share my home with ​Matt and a variety ​of our pets. Over the past decade, I have actively ​engaged ​with a diverse selection of animals, ​venturing into various roles involved in ​rescue ​and fostering programs. Since, I have invested ​into animal behaviour, ​prompting an exploration ​into the realm of canine training and behaviour. ​My ​primary goal is to aid owners and their pets to ​create rewarding and ​harmonious relationships. I ​am driven by a future where regulations ensure ​​reliable information, both accessible and ​educational”

Matt

Matt is Emma's partner and assists in home based services e.g. boarding

“I have a diverse relationship with the animal management and pet industry. I ​began by volunteering for an urban farm, during which I was studying my BTEC ​in Animal Management. Following, I worked in several dog-related businesses ​with roles including hydrotherapy assistant, daycare manager, canine volunteer ​coordinator, ‘dangerous’ dog breed handler, and worked with security breeds ​(Belgium and German shephers) when SIA licensed.

During my studies I have worked for two national organisations, Forestry ​England (ecologist) and the National Health Service (NHS). I worked for the NHS ​during the global COVID-19 pandemic during a period where ecological ​fieldwork was unable to take place.

Since, I have migrated into wildlife conservation (and ecology) having gained a ​first class and distinction in my BSc and MSc studies. I am now a qualified ​lecturer in natural and environmental sciences, as well as a doctoral research ​student in geographic data science”.
